The Newspaper Origami
Rights in Love has become a basic statement that means freedom of expression and human equality regardless of gender, race, nationality, or religion. Posterheroes organized a contest for individuals to create an artwork reflecting in Rights in Love. I decided to create an oragami heart out of newspaper articles. When people read newspaper articles, they may encounter a reading that may shock or concern individuals about the discrimination of people’s rights in loving one another. I changed the headlines that would often be negative and rewrote strong positive statements that would be both meaningful and symbolical towards Rights in Love. I played around with the scaling of headlines and rearranged some of the headlines in different positions. The origami shaped heart shows that despite the negaitvities towards rights in love, the heart sheds light to the public and shows that the heart is always there guiding them. Tools: Illustrator
